Everything you need to know about using Halo. Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch and we'll help.
Halo is an app that helps you keep track of your pet's medications, vitals, and vet appointments, and share a clear care guide with anyone looking after them. It's built for pet owners managing an ongoing condition, a senior pet, or anyone who wants real peace of mind.
Yes. Each pet gets their own complete profile, medications, vitals, contacts, calendar, and carer's pack, all in one place.
Yes. The free tier covers one pet, up to two medications with reminders, up to two upcoming calendar events, and your last three entries of weight, respiratory rate, and daily log history. Halo Plus removes those limits for only £5.99/month.
No. Halo is an information management tool, not a veterinary service. It does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified vet for your pet's health, and in an emergency, contact your vet or an emergency clinic directly rather than relying on the app.
Halo works just as well for healthy pets, vaccination records, vet contacts, routine reminders, and a carer's pack ready for whenever you travel. The peace of mind isn't only for complex cases.
Each medication gets its own schedule: daily, weekly on a specific day, monthly, a custom interval (like every 3 days), or as-needed with no reminder at all. You can add as many reminder times as a medication needs, for example twice daily at different times.
Up to two active medications with reminders on the free tier. Halo Plus removes that limit. If you're already over the limit, nothing you've entered is hidden or deleted, you just won't be able to add a new one until you upgrade.
You can mark a dose as given at any time from the Medications tab. Halo doesn't penalise or flag missed doses, it's there to help you remember, not to judge.
Unlimited medications, unlimited calendar events, full vitals history and trend charts, and PDF export of your Carer's Pack, for £5.99/month.
Halo Plus is managed through the App Store, the same place as any other subscription on your device. You can cancel anytime and you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period.
No. Nothing is deleted. If you have more than one pet, you'll only see your first pet until you resubscribe, the rest are hidden, not removed, and reappear the moment you're back on Plus. Your existing medications, vitals, and calendar entries stay exactly as they are. You'll simply be limited to the free tier's caps for adding new entries going forward.
On your device, and backed up to your own private iCloud account, so it can follow you if you switch devices or reinstall. Halo does not share, transmit, or sell your pet's information to anyone, and we have no access to it ourselves.
Only whoever you choose to share it with. On the free tier you can view the full guide in-app anytime. Halo Plus lets you export it as a PDF and send it to a sitter, family member, or vet, choosing exactly what's included.
Yes, Halo is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what data we collect and how it's protected.
Check that Halo has notification permission: Settings app > Halo > Notifications > Allow Notifications. Also make sure Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing the app, and that the medication's schedule and time are set correctly in the Medications tab.
Open Settings and check the Halo Plus status. If it still shows as inactive, use "Restore Purchases" in Settings, this re-links your existing App Store subscription to the app without charging you again.
Yes, automatically, as long as you're signed into the same iCloud account on both devices. Halo has no account system of its own, syncing happens entirely through your private iCloud, not a Halo server. If iCloud is off or you switch accounts, use the Carer's Pack export to carry over your pet's key details manually.
